Veterans Day is a very special day for the brave men and women that protected our country, rights, families, and freedoms. Every veteran is part of a long, unbroken line of achievement and honor.
On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, in the 11th month people across America will pause to remember the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen that served this great country. Because of veterans, America remains the land of opportunity and freedom.
The North Lake Community includes veterans that served for a variety of reasons. Some were drafted and others, felt a duty to defend their country, volunteered.
This year, in observance of Veterans Day, we will host a Veterans Day Celebration with performances by the MacArthur High School Army JROTC Drill Team on November 12 at 11 a.m. in the gymnasium. There will be a reception following the ceremony.
Let’s thank our veterans for their contributions to our college, community, state, nation and the world.
