Homecoming at North Lake College

The Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) is hosting its second annual homecoming celebration. This October, the seven colleges of DCCCD will welcome thousands of students, both past and present, to revel in all things fall fun. The celebration kicks off with the DCCCD's Distinguished Alumni and Pillar of the Community Award Ceremony on Friday, October 11 from 7 - 11 p.m. at Edison's in Dallas. NLC Students Return from Civil Rights Field Trip

On Sunday, March 24, North Lake College students and faculty returned from the Civil Rights Field Trip, a bus tour which took students to important historic sites and museums commemorating the Civil Rights Movement in the American South. On the trip, NLC students visited the National Civil Rights Monument, Rosa Parks Museum, 16th Street Baptist Church, Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and Legacy Museum in Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama, and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, Mississippi. NLC to Host First Civil Rights Field Trip

This March, North Lake College students will travel by bus to visit landmarks of the American Civil Rights Movement as part of the college's first-ever Civil Rights Field Trip. The trip takes place March 21-24, with stops in Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama, and Jackson, Mississippi. NLC Welcomes National Organization, Truth

North Lake College (NLC) recently received a grant from the Truth Initiative organization to endorse and advocate a smoke-free campus by enlisting five percent of the student population, which is approximately 544 students. In 2003, there was only one smoke-free college campus nationwide, but in 2018, there are 1,475 smoke-free campuses, and we want NLC to join this growing list of those campuses!
