2018’s Holiday Card Art Contest Winners

Congratulations to the winners of our 2018 Holiday Card Art Contest! These students’ visual artwork was selected to appear on the North Lake College holiday card and other cards, and the students were compensated with scholarships and other prizes. On Tuesday, October 23, students across campus participated in the semesterly NLC chalk art competition, Chalk It Up! The Fall 2018 theme was North Lake College School Pride. Earth Week Art Award Winners

North Lake College congratulates the winners of two different Earth Week art contests: the Tree Photo Contest and the semesterly Chalk It Up chalk art competition. Tree Photo Contest Contestants were asked to submit a photograph of their favorite tree at any North Lake campus, as well as an explanation of why that tree is their favorite. Help Support Our Faculty Burning Man Project!

Burning Man is an annual festival celebrating “community, art, self-expression and self-reliance” in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada. This year, NLC faculty members Lisa Gabriel, Kate Jenkins, and Trevor Bennett will have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the event. As part of Lisa’s Burning Man Project, she’s invited employees and students to create and submit their own letter design. She'll then share these as part of the typeface she is designing and entering into a juried showcase at the festival.
