North Lake College’s 41st Commencement Ceremony is just around the corner, on Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at Alfred J. Loos Field House in Addison.

But before you put on your cap and gown and get ready to walk the stage, there are steps every student must take to participate in the commencement ceremonies.

  1. Fill out a Degree Plan Request Form. This will help our registrars make sure you’ve fulfilled all your graduation requirements. If something is incomplete, they’ll notify you; otherwise, you’ll be good to go. If you have any questions about graduation requirements, email us with “Ready to Graduate” in the subject line.
  2. Make sure we have an accurate email address we can use to reach you. We’ll be sending you an email about when and where to get your diploma, so an up-to-date email address is crucial. If you need to, email us with “Change of Email Address” in the subject line.
  3. Finally, be sure to notify us that you plan to participate in commencement. To participate, you must submit your name by May 4. If you submit your name after April 19, your name will not be printed in the graduation program.
  4. That’s it: you’re ready to attend!
