According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, approximately 46.6 million adults in the United States face the reality of managing a mental illness every day. Half of all lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 14 and 75% by age 24. Early intervention programs can help because mental health care is health care!

Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a mental health professional. Take the free NLC Mental Health Screening.

Why care? Because care is a simple word, but a powerful way to change lives for people affected by mental illness. We care because we are in this together. View updates this month from NLC Counseling Services.

Looking for some self-care ideas? This fall, decorate a pumpkin, take a hike, decorate for the season, cook your favorite healthy meal, and/or take 5 minutes a day to do nothing.

If you wonder whether you or a friend needs mental health support, contact NLC Counseling Services by calling 972-273-3333 or visiting A311 at the Central Campus.
