About the Artists
Sue Benner
Born in Iron River in the Upper Peninsula Michigan and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Sue currently resides in Dallas with her husband and two sons. Sue works in a custom-built studio twenty feet from her back door.
Heather Pregger
Heather is a Forth Worth-based artist who has exhibited her art quilts in museums and galleries both nationally and internationally. Her work has been show in exhibitions at the Oulu Museum of Art (Oulu, Finland), the Muskegon Museum of Art (Muskegon, MI), Visions Art Museum (San Diego, CA), the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center (Auburn, NY), the Carnegie Art Center (New Albany, IN), the Fort Worth Art Center (Fort Worth, TX) and the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio (Lancaster, Ohio). She received the Cathy Rasmussen Emerging Artist Award from the Studio Art Quilt Associates in 2014.
Barbara Oliver Hartman
Raised in Yuma, Arizona, the influence of Barbara’s Southwest Heritage is apparent in her work. Since beginning quiltmaking about 1980, her original design quilts have displayed a Contemporary Southwestern flavor along with Amish, Art Deco styles and greatly influenced by the simplicity and calm of the desert. Barbara’s art quilts are designed for the wall and show colors and patterns that are unique in her non-traditional works.
Barbara creates many of the fabrics used in her work through painting and dyeing processes…..they are truly one of a kind. In recent years, abstraction and recycling/upcycling have become a large part of her work and she finds that very rewarding.
Carol Trice
Carol is a textile artist using line and texture to explore human interaction in monochromic textile paintings. Her artwork has been featured in New York and Dallas. She also has received several awards in local shows sponsored by Texas Visual Arts Association.
An artist reception will be held on Tuesday, October 17 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
