North Lake’s semesterly sidewalk chalk art competition, Chalk It Up, returns on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will be creating their artwork on the sidewalk in front of the lake.
All students, employees and clubs are eligible to participate. If you’re interested in participating, download the entry form. The registration fee is $3 for an individual or $5 for a group of two to five people. Submit entry forms to art faculty member Brett Dyer (office G325H, bdyer@dcccd.edu) any time before the contest begins. Proceeds go to student art scholarships.
Chalk and pastels are provided, although participants can also bring their own chalk. The Spring 2019 theme is “Sustainability & Earth Day” and the 2018-19 NLC Common Book “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for individual and group entries. Prizes include gift cards, art gift bags and certificates.
