NLC Welcomes National Organization, Truth

North Lake College (NLC) recently received a grant from the Truth Initiative organization to endorse and advocate a smoke-free campus by enlisting five percent of the student population, which is approximately 544 students. In 2003, there was only one smoke-free college campus nationwide, but in 2018, there are 1,475 smoke-free campuses, and we want NLC to join this growing list of those campuses! The Truth Initiative was established in 1998 as part of a Master Settlement Agreement between major U.S. tobacco companies and 46 states, the District Columbia and five territories. Get Involved in 2018’s Earth Week Festivities

Earth Day is a beloved part of the North Lake College calendar. That's why this year we're not stopping at just one day -- we're planning over a week of free events and activities on campus and around Dallas.  The celebration begins at Fair Park in downtown Dallas, when NLC attends the EarthX conference - the largest Earth Day celebration in Texas.
