Academic Testing Meet & Greet

A come and go event designed for faculty to stop by and see our relocated academic testing area. Take a few minutes to meet the staff who will be administering exams, tour the location, and ask questions.

Common Book Kickoff
Location: G405
The NLC Common Book creates a shared experience for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to build a community of readers who engage in thoughtful, intellectual discussions that fosters academic growth and collegiate engagement. The purpose of this session is to introduce NLC employees to this year’s common book: The Martian by Andy Weir. The session will discuss the planned events along with offering suggestions on how to integrate the book into curriculum and work areas.

CANCELLED — Accessibility Champions Training
Location: L236
This session will cover what is accessibility, how the law pertains to accessibility, and our new District accessibility policy, including the DCCCD Accessibility Checklist which provides best practices for creating accessible content.

Mindfulness Session
Location: G406
The focus of this session will be a general overview of the foundations of mindfulness, as well as the scientific support for its effectiveness in sustaining psychological well-being and other cognitive advantages. There will also be a brief introduction into the practice of integrating mindfulness into one’s daily life.

Coffee & Conversation with Leaders
Time: 3-4 p.m.
Location: H226
Come enjoy coffee, desserts, and conversation with our Leadership Team. This session provides access to the President and her Leadership Team in an informal setting. You can ask questions, hang out, and engage in casual conversation.
