This Black History Month, North Lake College will host two guest performances which demonstrate the vibrancy of African-American culture, plus a new seminar series for students preparing to travel on the Civil Rights Field Trip.

The Griot, Ms. Kijana Wiseman, is a dramatic storyteller utilizing audience participation, music, and comedy to enlighten and demonstrate mankind’s common musical heritage from the dawn of existence. The Griot has performed in 21 countries on three continents. This is her second North Lake College performance.

At the NLC North Campus, the Learning Resource & Testing Center (LRTC) is also diving into the past, present and future of Black Americans by participating in a tic tac toe style game.
