In honor of our 40th Anniversary and our ongoing commitment to serving our community, North Lake College has partnered with Family Promise of Irving for a special activity, “40 Days of Caring.”

From Monday, March 19- through Friday, April 27 we will work to fill donation baskets with household and personal hygiene items for local homeless families.  Our goal is to collect at least 40 baskets – ten in each of four categories requested by Family Promise (see below).

Each of the baskets includes 12 items or less, and each item can be purchased for no more than $5 (please avoid travel size items). You can make an individual donation of one or more items, or a whole basket (or more). You may also choose to collaborate with co-workers or fellow students. We are encouraging teamwork to help ensure that we reach our goal.

Donation boxes will be conveniently located in department offices (see locations below) and other secure areas throughout the college. Donations will be picked up weekly by our Facilities Team. If you would prefer for your donation basket to be picked up early, please feel free to contact nlcfacilities@dcccd.edu. All items will be delivered to Family Promise of Irving at the conclusion of the donation drive.

Family Promise of Irving is a faith-based non-profit ministry that supports families who are experiencing homelessness as they search for new jobs, undergo job training, and obtain permanent housing (no religious affiliation is required in order to receive aid).
