North Lake College’s art gallery will feature the 2017 Student Spotlight Show from Monday, August 21-Thursday, September 14. This group of student artists consist of photographers, painters, designers, ceramicists, printmakers, mixed-media artists and sculptors.
These advanced art students were chosen by the art faculty to participate in the 2017 Spotlight Show. They have demonstrated good work ethic, have contributed to the art department and possess a strong body of work. Each student enrolled in Steven Benezue’s summer course, Problems of Contemporary Art (ARTS1170), which teaches the various elements of how to curate an art show. The students designed the invitation for their show and developed a resume and an artist statement.
An artist reception will be held on Tuesday, August 29 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
